BRAZOS COUNTY JOINS LIST OF AREA BURN BANS

  

Authorities in Brazos County have issued a Burn Ban, effective until further notice.

The ban covers the entire county, and prohibits all outdoor burning, including burning trash.

Official say the lack of any widespread rain has created conditions favorable for spreading wildfire, and this week’s dry air will give more favorable conditions for spreading wildfires.

Brazos County joins Lee, Burleson, Fayette, Waller, Milam, Robertson, Madison and Walker counties that have issued burn bans until further notice this summer.

At this time 132 of the state’s 254 counties have active burn bans.
