SCRAP TIRE COLLECTION EVENT OPEN THROUGH OCTOBER 24TH AT BVR COLLECTION STATION

Residents across Washington County now have an opportunity to get rid of any scrap tires they may have.

Starting today (Saturday) and running through October 24th, the BVR Collection Station at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Road in Brenham will take up to eight passenger tires 20 inches and smaller for free per household.  The event, while being open to all county residents, is only for non-commercial customers, who will need to show proof of residence and ID upon arrival.

Residents with more than eight tires or tires that are bigger than 20 inches are asked to schedule with an attendant to bring in their tires at the end of the event, if space is available.  Residents are asked to not bring rims, and off-road tires or pieces of tires will not be accepted.

The tire collection event is sponsored by Washington County and the City of Brenham in partnership with Brazos Valley Waste and Recycling and Keep Washington County Beautiful.  The event is funded by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality through the Brazos Valley Council of Governments.

Hours for the BVR Collection Station during the event are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
