WASHINGTON CO. FAIRGROUNDS ANNEX BUILDING CLOSED FOR THURSDAY AFTER COVID-19 CASE REPORTED

The Washington County Fairgrounds annex building has been closed for today (Thursday) after a positive COVID-19 case was reported in an employee at the facility.

County Judge John Durrenberger said the county was informed Wednesday night of the positive case.  Durrenberger said the building has been closed today for decontamination “out of an abundance of caution.”

All other employees at the facility are being tested.  The annex building houses the county’s AgriLife Extension offices, the fair office, and the office of Precinct One Justice of the Peace Doug Zwiener.

Durrenberger said the rest of the fairgrounds remain open, and that it is just the annex building that will be closed for today.
