BRENHAM ALUM ANTIONE LISTER THRIVING IN EUROPEAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Former Brenham Cubs basketball standout Antione Lister is off to a rousing start in his European professional career.

Lister, 22, a 2016 graduate of Brenham High School, is in his first year with the Yerevan Mad Foxes of the Armenia-League A.

Lister, who also spent two seasons with the Blinn Buccaneers before transferring to Prairie View A&M, is leading the Mad Foxes in scoring, averaging 27.8 point per game for the 12 games he’s played so far this season.

He’s made 55 of 142 three-pointers this season (38.7%) and has made 57-percent of his total shots on the year.  He’s also averaging two rebounds and two assists per game.

The Mad Foxes are 12-4 and in second place in the LeagueA standings.  Friday night, Lister pumped in 34 points, leading his team to a 117-107 win over Cilicia.

Lister was a First Team All-District selection for the Cubs in 2015 and 2016, under Coach Bruce King.  In 2016 he was named District 19/5A Most Valuable Player.  That season he set the all-time Cubs scoring record with 51 points in a game against Spring Woods.

He was named the KWHI Brenham Cubs boys basketball Player of the Decade.

In 2019 Lister helped the Prairie View Panthers to just their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Antione is the son of Alicia Lazare and Basel Lister of Brenham.
