WASHINGTON CO. GO TEXAN SET FOR JANUARY 22ND, 23RD
Plans for one of the largest fundraisers for college-bound students in Washington County have been announced for late January.
The 2021 Washington County Go Texan fundraiser is set for January 22nd and 23rd at the La Bahia Hall in Burton.
Activities planned include a barbecue cook-off, featuring contests for chicken, ribs, brisket, chili, jackpot beans, steak shoot-out, margaritas, and Bloody Marys.
There will also be a reverse drawing with a $5,000 grand prize winner, along with other winning opportunities.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Washington County Go Texan youth scholarship fund in support of Brenham and Burton High School seniors. The event is BYOB; guests are invited to bring their own coolers.
Activities are subject to change due to COVID-19. Attendees must wear face coverings when it is not feasible to socially distance from others not in the same household.
