LEE CO. PART OF ‘HIGH HOSPITALIZATION’ DESIGNATION

  

Lee County Judge Paul E. Fischer says the county has been notified by the state that the Trauma Service Area has exceeded 15% total hospital capacity.

That has led to a ‘high hospitalization’ designation, which prohibits elective surgeries, pushes retail establishments and restaurants back to 50% occupancy, and closes bars.

Fischer goes on to say, however, that Lee County has fewer than 30 confirmed COVID-19 cases over the last 14 days, which allows the higher occupancy until the county receives notice from the Department of State Health Services.

Fischer says the county continues to work with local providers and the state to get more COVID-19 vaccine, and all local pharmacies and numerous medical providers have been approved to receive the vaccine.
