BRENHAM ISD PLANNING TO KEEP CURRENT MASK PROTOCOLS

Brenham ISD is planning to stay the course with its policies on mask wearing.

A day after Governor Greg Abbott announced an end to statewide COVID-19 restrictions and mask mandates, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) updated its Public Health Guidance, stating a public school system’s current practices on masks “may continue unchanged.”  It also says that local school boards have “full authority to determine their local mask policy.”

Brenham ISD Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin said the district is pleased to be getting local control with this matter, and that it intends to keep current protocols as they are.

Dr. Chaplin said adjustments will be made as they are needed, but he feels “everything seems to be working” with the system currently in place.
