SHOW TIMES REVEALED FOR TEXAS INDEPENDENCE FILM AT WASHINGTON-ON-THE-BRAZOS
As the premiere of a documentary film telling the story of the Texas Declaration of Independence approaches, the official watch times for the film have been announced.

The Washington-on-the-Brazos Historical Foundation will premiere “Independence! A Lone Star Rises” on March 31st to culminate Texas History Month, with a first showing at 10 a.m. and encore presentations at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The film is free to view, and can be watched on the Washington-on-the-Brazos Historical Foundation Facebook page. It will later be put on the Texas Historical Commission’s YouTube channel.
The film details the signing of the declaration and the creation of a new nation and government at Washington-on-the-Brazos 185 years ago. It is taking the place of a traditional Texas Independence Day Celebration due to COVID-19.
The movie is directed by Gary Foreman of Native Sun Productions and features an original score by Grammy-nominated composer David Arkenstone. It was filmed with participation from Brazos County students and Texan reenactors.
This project was made possible in cooperation of Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site, Washington-on-the-Brazos Historical Foundation, and the Texas Historical Commission.
