Thirty-six MCJROTC cadets earned overall regional championship honors at the Region 5 Drill Championship held on Saturday at Dayton High School.

Students placed first in Armed Regulation and Exhibition Drill, second in Unarmed Regulation and Exhibition Drill, second in Color Guard, and third in Academic.

Placement in the top three in the region qualifies for the national competition, which will occur in St. Louis, Missouri on May 8th.  Brenham has earned its fifth straight invitation to the national competition with this win.

The Cubs went up against 14 schools competing from the region.  This is the third time in the last four years that Brenham was crowned the Region 5 champion.
