CITY OF BRENHAM’S TAMMY JASTER RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION

City of Brenham Aquatic Supervisor Tammy Jaster has been recognized by a national aquatics organization.

Jaster has been named the Competitor Aquatics Professional of the Month by the Association of Aquatic Professionals (AOAP).  The honor was acknowledged at Thursday’s Brenham City Council meeting.

Public Works Director Dane Rau said Jaster’s work falls in line with the AOAP’s goal of promoting and advocating policies, practices and procedures that contribute to safer and improved aquatic education, aquatic recreation activities, programs and facilities.

 

 

Members of the Brenham VFW Post 7104 and Auxiliary were recognized at Thursday's Brenham City Council meeting. The VFW Post is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

Jaster also received a service recognition at Thursday’s meeting for 15 years of work with the City of Brenham.

Also on Thursday, the council recognized members of James F. Dillon VFW Post 7104 in Brenham, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary.  The post mustered on May 2, 1946, shortly after the end of World War II.

Post Commander Ben Seeker presented the council with a copy of the post’s founding charter.  He noted that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the VFW in the state of Texas.

In addition, three Brenham police officers have been promoted.  Andrea Guerra, Alex Saenz and Zackary Greig were recognized on Thursday after being promoted to corporal.
