API BASS TOURNAMENT SEPTEMBER 10, 11 AT LAKE SOMERVILLE
Lake Somerville will play host to a fishing tournament next weekend.
The annual American Petroleum Institute (API) Bass Tournament will be held at Lake Somerville Marina and Campground next Friday and Saturday, September 10th and 11th.
The event begins on Friday with registration at 5 p.m., along with dinner, door prizes and toys for children.
The tournament gets underway on Saturday at 6 a.m. and will continue to 3 p.m.
Top prizes are $1,000 in the open division and $500 in the sportsman division, with additional prizes in the $100 hourly big bass pot and overall big bass pot.
Complimentary food and beverages will be offered at weigh-in.
The tournament is hosted by the Austin Chalk Chapter and Brazos Valley Chapter of the API. Proceeds will benefit local charities and educational endowments.
