FAITH MISSION HELPING VICTIMS OF HURRICANE IDA TO RECOVER

A local organization is doing its part to help the victims of the recent devastating hurricane.

As the effects of Hurricane Ida are still being assessed in Louisiana and the southern region, Faith Mission has activated its Neighbors Helping Neighbors Program.

Faith Mission, working with county, city and area churches, say they want to help the people suffering in the most effective and efficient ways possible.

One way is the ability to make funds available to responsible parties that are on the scene and that can address the most critical needs they are seeing each day.  Bank accounts have been opened at the Bank of Brenham, Brenham National Bank and Citizens State Bank for individuals wanting to make donations to help the victims of this devastating storm.

Faith Mission will use its partnership network in Louisiana to ensure the funds are used only for the purpose intended.

Faith Mission is also working with several local groups planning to deliver food and basic essentials to Louisiana this weekend. They include: 1. First United Methodist Church of Brenham in conjunction with Texas Conference Disaster Relief, 2. Blake Handley and the Cowboy Church, 3. Royers Pie Haven and the Pie Chicks.

Rev. Wells says, "As the local Service Unit of the Salvation Army we work with our regional Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) through the Faith Mission Disaster Center and the Washington County office of Emergency Management directed by Bryan Rumke. We are here to support our brothers and sisters affected by this hurricane and are thankful to those who donate their time and money to relieve human suffering."
