  1. Please think about the people who only got a 2% raise not enough to cover the cost of living. Companies in town don’t pay enough for all the extra taxes that are being charged. Why is that. Do they not appreciate the employees that work hard for them. I guess they want those employees to look somewhere else for work, I think this town is trying to push the little guy out. Our schools can’t keep good teachers. Blinn only pays 2% to the worker’s. Other companies don’t give raises. Help us out find out why. Blinn can build all new buildings and no raise for cost of living. School system can’t pay to keep the good teachers. City of BRENHAM we have a problem.

    1. Dee When you think of what a company pays their employees, Please do not just look at the amount on the pay check, Also consider Vacation Time, Investment into Retirement plan , Insurance . , All these things cost money which the employer pays. So sometimes it is important to look at the overall amount you receive not just the Number on a check. Times are Tough for companies with cost going up and the bottom line shrinking, In some cases to cover a overall Raise to all employees a Layoff of some people may be in order to cover the amount of the raise.

      1. I agree with that. But the same company’s can give raises and bonuses to higher ups. Build new buildings. But can’t give cost of living raises. But I think you missed what was asked not to raise taxes on the individual who is not getting paid for cost of living. Insurance and days off don’t pay for there taxes. It is nice and appreciated I’m sure. But bottom line is getting taxed but no increase in pay to do so is hard on the little guy.
