BURTON CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT FESTIVAL HILL INVITATIONAL IN ROUND TOP-CARMINE

The Burton Panthers and Lady Panthers traveled to Round-Top Carmine this past Saturday to take part in the 25th annual Festival Hill Invitational Meet.

The Lady Panthers, led by Freshman Peyton Sigsbee (9 of 45), finished 4th overall. Also running for the Lady Panthers were Ella Hensley, Karime Ortiz, Kara Kaye, Kaylynn Varecka, and Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer Lopez (37 of 45) finished 1st for the JV Lady Panthers, helping them to a 5th place team finish.

Blazing the way for the Panthers was Freshman Colton Broesche (18 of 34). Andre Ortiz, Eli Saunders, Grayson Brown, Mitchell Hensley, and Trinity Pope all contributed to the 3rd place finish for the boys. 8th grader Devlin Douglas, running in the JH division finished in the top 10.

The Panthers conclude their regular season at the District Meet in Caldwell. The JH teams race Wednesday, October 13th, at Davidson Creek Park beginning at 4 pm. The HS teams race Thursday, October 14th, at Davidson Creek Park beginning at 10 am.
