CITY OF NAVASOTA FINALIST FOR TWO DOWNTOWN AWARDS

The City of Navasota has been named as a finalist for two awards in the 2021 President’s Awards Program.  The awards are sponsored by the Texas Downtown Association to recognize outstanding projects, places, and people of Texas downtowns.  The City of Navasota has been named a finalist for two awards which include the Resiliency Award for the Pretty City Committee and the Best Public Improvement for Railroad Street.

The Pretty City Committee consists of city staff and volunteers throughout the community that meet monthly to work on beautification projects to liven up Downtown Navasota and the rest of the community.  The Railroad Street Revitalization Project was initiated by the City of Navasota in an effort to address the need for updated storm drain and water infrastructure, along with revitalization and beautification of the streets and sidewalks to compliment the private development underway.

Winners will be announced on November 4 at the President’s Awards Gala, held in conjunction with the 2021 Texas Downtown Conference scheduled for November 3-5 in Denton.  For more information about the President’s Awards, the Texas Downtown Conference, or other programs of the Texas Downtown Association, please visit www.texasdowntown.org.
