ONE TRANSPORTED AFTER WEEKEND ACCIDENT ON FM 50
One person was taken to the hospital Saturday morning after a pickup truck pulling a livestock trailer lost control and jackknifed on FM 50 near Brenham.
The Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department and Brenham Fire Department responded just before 10 a.m. to a reported crash with entrapment in the 1900 block of FM 50, close to the intersection with Highway 105.
The truck was laying on its driver’s side door when first responders arrived.
According to Meyersville Volunteer Fire Chief Alan Winkelmann, one patient had to be extricated from the vehicle. Firefighters removed a portion of the truck’s roof to reach a female passenger, who was taken by ambulance to Baylor Scott & White in Brenham with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was checked out at the scene and released.
Brenham firefighters also responded Saturday to a one-vehicle rollover accident just after 9:30 a.m. in the 9400 block of Highway 36 North. All passengers were out of the vehicle when the fire department arrived, but it is not known whether anyone was injured.
