A new slate of officers is being installed this month for the museum’s board of directors.  Tiffany McMordie-Morisak will now serve as the board’s chair, after previously acting as vice-chair.  The vice-chair position will be filled by Natearah Austin.  Cayte Neil is the new board secretary and Seth McMeans will continue his role as board treasurer.

McMordie-Morisak, whose YellowTruck, LLC launched in downtown Brenham this past fall, replaces JoAnn Wolf, who served as board chair for the last four years.  Wolf led the effort to begin renovations to the historic post office building and oversaw the acquisition and renovation of the Collections building at 310 East Main Street and the Bus Depot Gallery at 313 East Alamo Street.  She will remain on the board as a director and plans to be active in fundraising for the ongoing capital campaign.

Meanwhile, Mike Vance is being named the museum’s executive director, after serving in an interim capacity for the past six months.  He started with the museum as history and content consultant in January 2019.  He was previously the program director at the Heritage Society in Houston, and his background includes authoring works on Texas history and producing Texas history documentaries for PBS and other educational use.

The post office building is being prepared for a phase one grand reopening later this year.  The museum continues to seek corporate and individual partners for the capital campaign.  Naming rights are available.
