ELIOT ALLEN DISCUSSES TIME AS BRENHAM ISD ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, NEW ROLE IN BASTROP ISD

Coach Eliot Allen

Following the announcement that Brenham ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Eliot Allen would be taking a new role in Bastrop ISD, Allen visited with KWHI today (Friday) to reflect on his time in Brenham and look to the future.

Allen says the support he and Brenham athletics receive from the community is unlike anywhere else.

Allen will become Bastrop ISD’s new Director of Athletics, a role that he says will not include any direct coaching duties.

Allen says he and his wife will actually continue to live in Brenham, as she is taking a position as assistant principal at Brenham Elementary School.

Hired by Brenham ISD in April 2018, Allen coached the Brenham Cub football team to a 31-16 record in four seasons, finishing twice as a regional semi-finalist and once as a bi-district finalist.  He has a career coaching record of 149-74.

Also during Allen's time as Athletic Director, the Brenham Cubette volleyball team earned playoff berths from 2018-21.  Girls soccer made a trip to the playoffs in 2019.  Boys track earned fifth in state in 2021, and the swimming program had regional and state qualifiers in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

As Brenham ISD begins its search for a new Athletic Director, Clay Gillentine will become interim Athletic Director alongside his duties as Brenham ISD’s Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services.
