BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO HOLD SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATION, HEAR BOND PLANNING REPORT

The Brenham School Board will meet tonight (Tuesday) to hold the annual evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin and hear a bond planning report.

Dr. Chaplin’s evaluation will be discussed during executive session.  He has served as Brenham ISD’s superintendent since September 2020, following the departure of former superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson.

In other discussion, the district’s bond planning committee will provide the board with a report and possible recommendation on whether a bond is necessary for district and facility upgrades.  The committee was created in mid-2021 to gather input and guidance on the district’s future steps as they relate to a potential bond measure.

Trustees will also potentially approve Brenham ISD’s instructional calendar for the 2022-23 school year.  They will also consider a possible one-time early retirement or resignation incentive, hear updates on district transportation and COVID-19, and review the annual Texas Academic Performance Report.

The board will meet at 6 p.m. at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.

  1. Plenty of teachers are already exiting the district. There is really no need to offer a retirement/resignation incentive.
