CUBS LOSE TO MAGNOLIA WEST 41-40 AT HOME

Rough second half costs Brenham in a one point loss

It was a tale of two halves as the Brenham Cub Basketball Team dropped a heartbreaker to the Magnolia West Mustangs 41-40 last (Tuesday) night at the Brenham High School Gym.

The Cubs jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead to start the game, and ended up outscoring Magnolia West 14-5 in the first quarter.

Brenham also outscored the Mustangs 15-10 in the second quarter to take a 29-15 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The second half belonged to Magnolia West. They outscored the Cubs 13-7 in the third quarter and 13-4 in the fourth quarter to escape with the win.

Shaun Ray led Brenham with 13 points. Kaden Watts had 8 points. Josiah Ferguson and Delvin Gantt chipped in with seven points each.

The Cubs are back in action on Friday night as they host A&M Consolidated at 6:30pm. (6:15pm pregame on KWHI and KWHI.com.)
