ALL WASHINGTON CO. SALES TAX REBATES UP FOR FEBRUARY
Washington County entities reported moderate to substantial gains in sales and tax distributions during the month of February.
This month’s rebate for Washington County was $410,172, up 31.57 percent from last February’s payment of $311,737. So far this year, the county has received $739,582, a 31.76 percent increase from the $561,291 received through this point last year.
Brenham’s rebate in February was a 17.6 percent increase from $700,127 received last February, at $823,372. The city’s receipts so far this year total $1,565,230, up 22.96 percent from last year’s payment-to-date of $1,272,936.
Burton received $14,677 this month, an increase of 65.87 percent from the $8,848 it took in last February. Through 2022, the city has received $22,114, up 42.81 percent from this time last year, when its payout was $15,484.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported the state paid out $1.22 billion in local sales tax allocations this month, up 16.4 percent from last February and up 20.9 percent for the year to date.
