WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER DESIGNATING ARPA FUNDS AS LOSS REVENUE

  

The designation of nearly $7 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds as loss revenue will be discussed Tuesday by Washington County Commissioners.

According to Washington County Judge John Durrenberger, counties have the option to declare ARPA funds as loss revenue if they receive less than $10 million.  The county is seeking to designate approximately $6,969,658.

Durrenberger said performing this action will allow the county to use the money for a wider variety of purposes, while still abiding by federal guidelines for spending the funds.  He said the intent is to focus on using the funding for “long-term infrastructure projects” and “for the benefit of the taxpayer.”

In the only other non-routine item on Tuesday’s agenda, commissioners will consider the extension of a contractor agreement between the county and Revenue Optimization Solutions, LLC to serve as the Texas Ambulance Supplemental Payment Program (TASPP) consultant for EMS.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
