BLINN LIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAM WINS IN SAN ANTONIO

The Blinn College Livestock Judging Team took home top honors at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition’s Junior College Livestock Contest this past Saturday.

Blinn won the team competition and place three individual competitors in the top five.

Blinn totaled 4,712 points, which was 42 points ahead of second place South Plains College and 51 points ahead of third place Redlands Community College.

Blinn’s Quensey Torrez finished second overall with 962 points, while John Reaves was third with 957 points, and Kevin Jendrusch was fifth with 948 points.

Rounding out the team were Kelton Poe, who finished sixth with 948 points, Kace LeRow, who finished 14th with 933 points, and Maddison Brinkman who finished 21st with 933 points.

Blinn will end the 2021-2022 judging season at the prestigious Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo judging contest on March 14.

Blinn's Agricultural Sciences Program has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state, including livestock judging, Agriculture Club, wildlife, agricultural mechanics, and horticulture.
