Dozens of local children in Faith Mission’s SMART Kids program were gifted books by the Fortnightly Club of Brenham.
During the Fortnightly Club’s annual used book sale last week at the Washington County Expo, club members donated money for 40 children ages 5-12 in Brenham ISD to choose the books they liked.
The SMART program provides a six-week academic enrichment course designed to teach moral principles, increase reading skills, and introduce children to hands-on, educational field trip experiences throughout the region.
