WASHINGTON COUNTY COOKERS FINISH IN TOP 10 IN RIBS AT HLS&R BBQ COOKOFF
Washington County’s representative at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Barbecue Cookoff had an impressive outing at the annual event.
The S.O.S. Cookers, who represented Washington County at the Cookoff, were among the Top 10 finalists in the Rib category. They had a ninth place finish.
Kevin Ignasiak was the team’s lead cook.
The S.O.S. Cookers also placed 16th in chicken and finished 20th overall.
They competed with 253 other teams at the Cookoff including some teams with international participants.
Washington County Go Texan Ambassador John Schulze thanked the team members for their participation and praised their success saying that they “showed great hospitality for Washington County.”
Schulze also thanked all of the sponsors for supporting the team during their trip to the event.
