DRIVER IDENTIFIED IN PURSUIT LEADING TO FATAL CRASH NEAR SNOOK
DPS has identified the driver of the vehicle that fled from authorities after a traffic stop Wednesday in Burleson County, resulting in a crash that killed two passengers and injured him and another passenger.
According to DPS, 18-year-old Fredrick Hawkins of Snook drove away from a traffic stop on Main Street in Snook around 1:15 p.m.
Hawkins, who was driving a 2007 BMW passenger car, evaded law enforcement on County Road 269 until he lost control and struck a tree.
Hawkins and the front seat passenger, a 17-year-old female, were flown to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan with major injuries. The two back seat passengers, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, were pronounced dead at the scene.
DPS says a criminal investigation is ongoing.
