FORMER CUBETTE MCCOWAN TO PLAY FOR WNBA TEAM IN DALLAS

Teiara McCowan

A former Brenham Cubette basketball player is going to be playing professional basketball back in her home state.

The WNBA's Indiana Fever have traded Center Teiara McCowan to the Dallas Wings.

McCowan is a graduate of Brenham High School. She played college basketball at Southern Mississippi.

In 2019, McCowan won the SEC Player of the Year Award. That same year, she was the #3 overall pick in the WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever.

The Fever has sent McCowan and their first round pick in next year's WNBA draft to the Wings in exchange for the #4 and #6 overall picks in this year's draft and their first pick in next year's draft.

The Dallas Wings open their season on May 7 at home against the Atlanta Dream.
