BURTON CITY COUNCIL RUN-OFF ELECTION ARRIVES TODAY (SATURDAY)

Residents of Burton are hoping to finally find out who the next two members of their City Council are going to be as Election Day has arrived.
The runoff election was ordered after the May 2nd Burton City Council election ended with two ties.
Incumbent Tommie Gilmon and challenger Sheila Ripple finished tied for Position #2 with 66 votes each, while incumbent Macey Tidwell and challenger Berneake Gantt finished tied for Position #5 with 65 votes each.
Early voting wrapped up this past Tuesday with 94 of the registered 272 voters casting their ballots.
Today (Saturday), voting can be done at the Burton City Hall until 7pm.
