WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER NEW AIRCRAFT OPERATING AGREEMENT
Washington County Commissioners will potentially approve an aircraft operating agreement with a new air ambulance service provider when they meet Tuesday.
Commissioners are set to consider an agreement with Louisiana-based Metro Aviation, less than a month after proceeding with plans to terminate the county’s existing agreement with REACH Air Medical Services.
EMS Director Kevin Deramus said at the court’s meeting on March 1st that the decision to move to a different provider was to improve aircraft availability time. A release from County Judge John Durrenberger at the time said the change would allow the county to perform its own agency billing for operations as a government taxing entity, giving it the ability to waive co-pays for air transports as it does for ground EMS patients.
If approved, the new agreement would begin on June 1st and would last for an initial term of three years.
In related action, commissioners will take up several job position descriptions for the EMS aviation department, including for lieutenant – special operations, flight paramedic and division chief – compliance.
Also on Tuesday, commissioners will consider:
- Purchasing recording software for E-911 to include installation, training and the first year of maintenance funded through a line item transfer.
- A right of way permit application for the Blue Bell Fun Run/Run for the Youth of Washington County, taking place April 2nd.
- Transferring a 2012 Ford F-150 from Engineering and Development Services to EMS.
- Proclaiming April 24th to May 1st as Soil and Water Stewardship Week.
- A formal notice from Magnolia Oil & Gas Operating, LLC for a gas line, oil and water line road bore on Moye Road in Precinct 4.
- Approving a 60 day extension of 20.5 excess vacation hours for Peggy Diggs with the district clerk’s office.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
