CUBS RALLY FALLS SHORT IN 6-5 LOSS TO COLLEGE STATION

The Brenham Cub Baseball Team lost a tough game 6-5 against the College Station Cougars last (Tuesday) night at Fireman's Park.

The Cougars jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the second inning.  They also add one run each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.

The Cubs finally got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lane Sparks reached on an error, and scored on an RBI double by Ethan Jezierski. Cade Warmke would then follow with another RBI double that scored Jezierski to cut the lead to 6-2.

Brenham would then get one last chance in the bottom of the seventh inning. Gunner Gee hit a one out single, and then later scored on a throwing error by the Cougars to make it 6-3. Rylan Wooten walked and Lane Sparks singled. Mason Lampe smashed a two run double that scored Wooten and Sparks to trim the lead to 6-5, but that would be as close as they could come.

The Cubs and Cougars face off again on Friday night in College Station at 7pm.
