NAVASOTA COUNCILMEMBER CHOSEN AS TML VICE PRESIDENT
Navasota Councilmember Pattie Pederson has been elected Vice President of the Texas Municipal League (TML), Region 14.
The announcement comes after Pederson and Navasota Mayor Bert Miller attended the Texas Municipal League Region 14 Fall Meeting and Workshop in Galveston this past Saturday.
Sessions attended included a legislative update and a roundtable with State Representatives Kyle Kacal, Alma Allen, and Harold Dutton.
Topics discussed included local control, unfunded mandates from the state, infrastructure needs of cities, and state education issues.
In her new capacity as Vice President, Pederson will serve by planning future TML sessions, as well as being involved with elected officials, and issues in the upcoming 2023 legislative session.
The TML is a private, non-profit association that provides services to Texas cities through legislative, legal, and educational efforts. Region 14 represents more than 150 municipalities in Southeast Texas.
Region 14 is made up of 17 counties, which include the counties of Waller, Grimes, Austin, and Colorado.
