PILOT KILLED, PASSENGER CRITICALLY INJURED IN PLANE CRASH IN WALLER CO.

  

A Houston man was killed and another man was critically injured after a small plane crash Monday afternoon in Waller County.

DPS reports the single-engine plane crashed around 3 p.m. near Waller Gladish and Howell Road, close to the Soaring Club of Houston.  According to DPS, the plane went down after having engine problems.

The two men aboard the plane were flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.  The pilot, 74-year-old Harding Rome, was later pronounced dead.  An update on the unidentified passenger’s condition has not been provided.

The FAA is investigating the crash with assistance from DPS.
