THANKSGIVING MEALS TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO FAYETTE CO. FAMILIES
With Thanksgiving around the corner, a nonprofit is looking to make a difference for families in need in Fayette County and Central Texas.
Feed the Need Missions is distributing Thanksgiving meal kits, called Gobble Kits, complete with a turkey and all the trimmings for a family of six.
Community members are invited to take grocery bags or paper bags and fill them with non-perishable ingredients, add a note for the receiving family, and include $20 to cover the cost of the turkey. Feed the Need Missions then purchases turkeys to hand out along with the grocery bags to families, so that they can enjoy a free Thanksgiving meal.
Grocery bags and instructions on what to put in them are available at several locations in La Grange: Fayette County Veterinary Clinic, Crosspoint Community Church, Alpha One Ford, National Bank and Trust, and The UPS Store. The filled bags can be dropped off at any of these locations.
Anyone looking to sign up to receive a Gobble Kit can visit Feed the Need Missions’ weekly site in La Grange on the square on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Donations can be dropped off through Monday, November 14th.
Completed Gobble Kits will be distributed on the square on Monday, November 21st.
