BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER 2023-24 CALENDAR, EVALUATE SUPT.
Consideration of next year’s school calendar and the annual evaluation of the superintendent will lead Tuesday’s agenda for the Brenham School Board.
Trustees will adopt Brenham ISD’s instructional calendar for the 2023-24 school year. Families were given the opportunity to choose their preferred option for when school lets out for the winter break, and their input will be reviewed by the board.
The two options that were available to vote on were a break that dismisses students on December 21st and has them return on January 9, 2024, and another that releases students on December 15th and resumes classes on January 3, 2024. Voting ended on Wednesday.
In executive session, board members will hold the annual evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin and perform their self-evaluation. At the time of Dr. Chaplin’s last evaluation in January 2022, his contract was renewed to continue through June 2025.
Consent agenda items for trustees include the approval of a joint election agreement between Brenham ISD, the City of Brenham and Blinn College for the May 6th election; an order of election for the board of trustees to be held May 6th; and the district and campus improvement plans with the ability to update as needed.
The board will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Brenham High School, rooms 111 and 113. The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
