‘UPTOWN SWIRL’ DRAWS BIG CROWDS TO DOWNTOWN BRENHAM
Downtown Brenham enjoyed another successful “Uptown Swirl” on Saturday.
Great weather helped make downtown the place to be, as event organizers say over 700 commemorative glasses were sold for the winter wine walk. Participants were able to visit 36 different businesses and locations to try wines suitable for every palate.
This year marked the 11th installment for the “Uptown Swirl”, which benefits Main Street Brenham and its downtown improvement projects. The event is estimated to have grossed at least $30,000 in glass sales and sponsorships, before expenses.
Organizers thank each of this year’s “Uptown Swirl” sponsors, including Champagne Sponsor Old 300 Title, who paid for the wine glasses; Cabernet Sponsors Main Street Uncorked and Deep in the Heart Farms; and Pinot Grigio Sponsor Hermann Furniture.
