WOMAN KILLED IN CRASH WITH 18-WHEELER NEAR NAVASOTA
A Navasota woman was killed in a collision with an 18-wheeler Wednesday afternoon on Highway 105 in Brazos County.
DPS reports the accident happened around 1:15 p.m. at Highway 105 and FM 159, west of Navasota.
According to DPS, a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was driving southbound on FM 159, disregarded a stop sign and struck the back of the trailer of a 2011 Freightliner traveling east on Highway 105.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 50-year-old Kimberly Fridel, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
DPS’ investigation of the crash is ongoing.
