CHAPPELL HILL CHAMBER NAMES MAN, WOMAN, AND BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

  

The Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce handed out the recognitions for Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, and Business of the Year during their annual Awards Reception last (Thursday) night.

The Chamber’s Man of the Year went to John Kopychinski. Kopychinski has been doing business in Chappell Hill for over 60 years, which includes his current venture the Chappell Hill Bakery and Deli.  He is a former Chamber president, and is a founding member of the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department and the Scarecrow Festival.

The Woman of the Year went to Dale Ramey. Ramey is a former treasurer for the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce, and served as Public Relations Chairwomen for the Chappell Hill Historical Society.  She helped found the Chappell Hill Garden Club, which started with only four members, and now has 60 members.  Ramey also has helped to produce the Christmas Home Tour and this past year gave out over $10,000 in scholarships to high school seniors.

The Business of the Year went to Kippers Country Store.  Kippers is owned by Scott and Kelli Atwood.  They opened in the former J.P. Perkins Drug Store building that has been around since 1858, and is listed in the National Register of Historical Buildings. Locally, they helped start “Trick or Treat on Main Street.”

The event was held at the Chappell Hill Historical Museum.

The theme for the evening was “Tip of the Hat to all Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce Members and Volunteers.”
