10TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT ART CONTEST BEGINS

An art contest is underway for high school students within the 10th Congressional District of U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul.

The winning selection in the 2023 Congressional Art Competition will be displayed for one year in the United States Capitol, alongside artwork from students across the nation.

Additionally, first-place winners and one guest will receive round-trip tickets to attend the National Reception on June 20th in Washington, D.C.

Artwork entered may be up to 26 inches high, 26 inches wide and 4 inches in depth.  Submissions cannot weigh more than 15 pounds.  Entrants whose artwork is selected as the winning piece must frame it and ensure it remains no larger than the maximum allowed dimensions.

Types of artwork that can be entered include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art and photography.

Students interested in participating must submit a student release form and their original artwork to one of Rep. McCaul’s offices in College Station or Austin.  Submissions must be received by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 4th.
