TATE HOLDS LAST REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS BRENHAM MAYOR

council meeting, which was his last regular meeting
to serve as mayor.
It was an emotional Brenham City Council meeting today (Thursday) for Milton Tate, his last one serving as mayor.
This council meeting was the final regularly scheduled gathering before Election Day this Saturday, which will determine the city’s next mayor: Atwood Kenjura or Keith Hofmann. Tate chose not to run for another term after holding office since September 2003.
Tate said Brenham has exploded over the past decade, and while it has been challenging at times, he believes the city has much to look forward to.
Councilmembers and the public stood and applauded Tate in appreciation of his years of service.
A reception in honor of Tate will be held on Wednesday, May 17th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Morriss Hall at The Barnhill Center.
The council will meet again on Tuesday at 9 a.m. to canvass the results from Saturday’s election.
