TWO HOUSTON MEN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS AND A GUN
Two Houston men were arrested in Fayette County after being caught with illegal drugs and a handgun.
Sheriff’s Deputy Seth Nagel made a traffic stop on a 2011 Infiniti that was traveling westbound on State Highway 71 near West Point for a traffic violation.
Upon contact with the occupants, the driver did not have a Texas Driver’s License.
Nagel observed 24 open Corona beer bottles in the vehicle, so he conducted a search to see if there were more open containers in the car.
Deputy Jared Michalec arrived and assisted Nagel at the scene.
Inside the vehicle, Nagel located two baggies of Marijuana, a white powdery substance in a folded dollar bill that tested positive for Cocaine, and a Smith & Wesson 40 Caliber handgun with 12 live rounds in the clip.
22-year-old Yaredy Jonathan Casasola-Lara and 21-year-old Jose Rolando Cuevaz-Vargas were arrested and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice center.
They have both been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
