PEDESTRIAN KILLED IN COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 6 IN NAVASOTA
A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a commercial motor vehicle early Sunday morning in Navasota.
Around 4:30 a.m., Navasota police responded to Highway 6 near Highway 90 for a vehicle/pedestrian crash.
Police report that a commercial truck attempted to avoid a pedestrian walking along the highway. According to police, the truck hit the pedestrian, lost control and rolled into a ditch.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver is being treated for minor injuries.
Police continue to investigate the crash. No further details or names will be released until the victim’s family is notified.
