THE BARNHILL CENTER TO HOST SWEDISH SUPERSTAR GUNHILD CARLING SATURDAY
A Swedish entertainer and multi-instrumentalist will bring her high-energy show to Brenham this weekend.
Gunhild Carling will play at The Barnhill Center tomorrow (Saturday) beginning at 7 p.m. The internationally acclaimed jazz star bridges the gap between the 2020s and the Roaring Twenties with a foundation in New Orleans jazz and big band swing. She dances, juggles and plays 10 instruments, sometimes within the same song.
Carling says she is very excited for her first-ever show in Brenham as she performs around the Lone Star State.
Carling is often featured with big bands, symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras, and as a diva vocalist with Postmodern Jukebox. She has over 50 million online followers and is a TV celebrity in Sweden, having appeared in several programs.
In total, Carling has released 11 albums, starting in 1985 with her debut, “I’ve Lost My Heart In Dixieland.” Many of her albums and concerts feature her family members, who are also musicians and vocalists. Some albums were recorded with orchestras and some with her big band.
Tickets are still available starting at $75 at https://thebarnhillcenter.com.
