ALL THREE WASHINGTON COUNTY LITTLE LEAGUE TEAMS WIN

All three Washington County Little League teams that are still in the Sectional Tournaments picked up wins last (Wednesday) night and advanced to their respective tournament championships.

MINOR GIRLS SOFTBALL: WASHINGTON COUNTY 12 SMITHVILLE 0

Kinsley Wallace and Lilly Collier combined on a no-hitter. Wallace went the first three innings allowing no runs, no hits, walking five, and striking out seven. Collier closed it out in the fourth with a 1-2-3 inning, and picked up two more strikeouts.

Washington County got the scoring started in the bottom of the first. Kori Boeker reached on an error, and came around to score as Collier reached on another error. Charley Eberly followed with a two run inside the park homer to make it 3-0.

Audrey Dismukes reached on the third Smithville error of the inning, and later came around to score on an RBI single by Grace Campbell. Campbell came home on an RBI single by Olivia Fuchs. Tori Jankowski singled home Fuchs. Jankowski then scored on an RBI groundout by Molly Felder to make it 7-0 after the first inning.

Washington County added another run in the bottom of the second inning. Caroline Roznovsky drew a walk, stole second, and then scored on an RBI single by Brylie Mund to make it 8-0.

Washington County would add four more runs in the bottom of the third to increase their lead to 12-0. Dismukes singled and then scored on an RBI single by Campbell. Later in the inning, Fuchs walked, and Jankowski singled. Felder had an RBI single that scored Fuchs. Maybree Ehlert followed with a two run single to score Jankowski and Felder.

The same two teams will play again tonight (Thursday) at 6pm in Bastrop.

If Washington County wins, they are Section 1 Champions, and will move on to the State Tournament in El Campo. If Smithville wins, they will come back on Friday for one more winner-take-all game at 6pm in Bastrop.

11 YEAR OLD BOYS BASEBALL: WASHINTON COUNTY 20 NORTHWEST 12

Washington County lives to fight another day as they beat Northwest Austin 20-12 last (Wednesday) night in an elimination game.

Washington County will face Lufkin again. Lufkin beat them 5-4 on Tuesday night.

Washington County has to beat Lufkin twice tonight (Thursday) to advance to the State Tournament in Tyler.

First pitch is at 6pm (5:35pm pregame on KWHI). If a second game is necessary, it is tenatively scheduled for tonight (Thursday) at 8pm.

MAJOR BOYS: WASHINGTON COUNTY 6 LUFKIN 5

After trailing 5-2, Washington County rallied to defeat Lufkin 6-5. Washington County now moves on to the Section One Tournament Championship on Friday night.

Lufkin will play Northwest, who beat Bryan Harvey 8-5 on Wednesday, in an elimination game tonight (Thursday) at 7pm in College Station.

The winner of that game would then have to beat Washington County twice on Friday night (6pm and if needed 8pm) to advance to State. (5:35pm pregame on KWHI)
