UNITY THEATRE SUMMER CHILDREN’S MUSICAL TO PLAY JULY 27-30

Unity Theatre in Brenham is getting ready to feature a classic fairy tale for its summer children’s musical.

“Jack and the Beanstalk”, the Prince Street Players’ version by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy, will play on Unity’s Main Stage July 27-30 for eight shows.

Needing money to pay the yearly taxes, Jack’s mother tells him to sell their cow, but he ends up with a bag full of magic beans in exchange for the cow.  The next morning after planting them, Jack awakens to find a giant beanstalk.  At the top lives a scientifically inclined giant who has invented a golden harp and a tap-dancing golden goose, and wackiness ensues as Jack tries to escape the magical kingdom.

Performances are Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale at $15 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and under.  Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more.

Recommendations can be made through the Unity Theatre box office at 300 Church Street or by calling 979-830-8358.  To learn more, visit www.unitybrenham.org
