WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER TAX PHASE-IN REQUEST, HEAR QUARTERLY REPORTS

Washington County Commissioners will meet Tuesday to revisit a tax phase-in request tabled from their previous meeting.

The court will take up a resolution adopting a commercial tax phase-in agreement with Stanpac USA, LLC.  If approved, the company would be able to receive incentives for eligible property improvements and job creation as it expands its product line with new equipment at its Brenham facility.

Action on the item, which was approved by the Brenham City Council last month, had to be postponed by the county in order to meet notification requirements.

Commissioners will also hear quarterly reports and updates from economic development and human resources.

In other business, the court will act on appointing the tax assessor-collector chief appraiser to calculate the county’s no-new-revenue tax rate and voter-approval tax rate.

Two items for the sheriff’s office will be considered.  Those are the purchase of five Dell rugged laptops through the American Rescue Plan Act and approval of a service agreement with Voice Products Service, LLC.  The service agreement was tabled from when the court last gathered.

There will also be possible action on selling old personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies through GovDeals.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
