LANE SPARKS EARNS THSCBA ALL-STATE HONORS

The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association has released the list of the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Teams.

Brenham Cub OF Lane Sparks was named Second Team All State. In his senior season for the Cubs, Sparks had a .365 batting average, .481 on-base percentage, and a .541 slugging percentage. He also had 13 RBIs, scored 32 runs, had 11 doubles, two triples, and drew 18 walks.

Sparks signed to play baseball next season with Houston Christian University.

Other area players making All State:

For the Class 5A State Champion Magnolia West Mustangs, P Caylon Dygert made the Elite Team, while P James Ellwanger made the All State First Team.

In Class 4A, Bellville Brahma OF Tyler Fishbeck was named to the Elite Team.

In Class 3A, Columbus Cardinal 2B Ryan Lewis was named to the Elite Team.

In Class 2A, Mumford 3B Joseph Flores was named Second Team All State, while Mumford P Damian Castorena and Fayetteville SS Travis Gully were named Third Team All State
