BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS SUPT. SEARCH, RESOLUTION ON LACK OF STATE FUNDING
The Brenham School Board will take the first steps in its search for a new school district superintendent when it meets on Wednesday.
An executive session will be held for trustees to formally begin the search process. This is the first meeting of the board since Dr. Tylor Chaplin’s announcement that he would retire as Brenham ISD’s superintendent at the end of December.
In regular session, board members will consider and possibly adopt a resolution addressing the lack of state funding for school districts. Some trustees have openly criticized the state in not providing enough to districts so that they can comply with new laws and be able to provide pay raises for teachers and staff.
Other business facing the board is a review of the 2022-23 program performance of PRIDE Academy’s optional flexible school day program and potential renewal of the program for the upcoming school year. Following that, trustees will enter into a budget workshop.
The board will meet Wednesday at noon in the Brenham ISD Administration Office. The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
