CHAPPELL HILL HOSTING 4TH ANNUAL “AIRING OF THE QUILTS”
The town of Chappell Hill is getting ready to host their fourth annual “Airing of the Quilts” on Saturday, September 9.
“Airing of the Quilts” runs from 10am-3pm, there is no admission fee and parking is free.
Event Chair Lauren Cox said that guests will be able to see over 70 quilts that are going to be displayed throughout downtown at local businesses, the Providence Baptist Church, the Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum, the Rock Store, and the Masonic Lodge through the day.
There will be historic entries, barn quilts, children’s quilt activities, and businesses will be open for visitors to spend the day, or the weekend.
This year’s event will also have Carol Ann Maurer from Cypress as one of their featured quilters. She is the author of “The Art of Quilting for Beginners and Beyond” and “The Art of Stained-Glass Quilting” both of which received five stars on Amazon Books.
Maurer will be making hourly presentations at the Masonic Lodge on Main Street beginning at 10:30, and the last one will be at 2:30pm.
If anyone would like further information about entering their quilts or about the event itself, feel free to the Chamber Office at 979-337-9910, or send an e-mail to bluebonnethouse@msn.com.
A detailed map will be available at local businesses on September 9th, and on-line by visiting www.chappellhill.tx.com.
