A representative for Robison’s family told the Associated Press that Robison died at a hospital in San Antonio after suffering “cardiac arrest and other complications.”  He was 59.

Robison’s career began in the late 1980s with Austin bands before releasing his first solo album, “Bandera”, in 1996.  Some of his most well-known songs include “Barlight”, “My Hometown” and “I Want You Bad”.  He retired in 2018 after a surgical procedure on his throat caused him to lose his singing voice.

Robison had been slated to perform at the upcoming Washington County Fair, opening for Shane Smith & The Saints on Friday, September 22nd.  Last week, due to Robison’s health complications, the fair announced that William Clark Green would perform in his place.
