BRENHAM’S AVERY MAURER CHOOSES SAM HOUSTON STATE FOR COLLEGE

Brenham Cubette Shortstop Avery Maurer has made her plans for college known. Maurer has committed to Sam Houston State University.

Maurer will be in her junior year with the Cubettes when they begin play in February 2024. She has started at shortstop and been the team's leadoff hitter since her freshman season.

In both her freshman and sophomore seasons, Maurer received First Team All-District and Academic All-District honors. She was also voted by her teammates as the Offensive MVP.

Maurer becomes the fourth member of the Brenham Cubettes that have made their college plans known. Della Jasinski has committed to Texas A&M, while Halle Scheel and Annie Beckendorf have committed to Blinn College.

Avery is the daughter of Wesley and Jamie Maurer. She is also the granddaughter of Jimmie and Barbara Maurer and Otto and Thana Kemper.
